A Digital Camera Group (5 photographers) is conducting a fundraiser for Goward House by taking photographic portraits of GH members. A sitting fee of $5 will be paid per person (in advance). Each participant will be assigned a specific time and photographer. Approx 2-3 weeks following your portrait session, you can purchase a digital copy (DVD) of your photos at a cost of $15. Take this DVD to have your photos developed to your specifications. All funds will be donated to Goward House.

The photography sessions will be 15 minutes long and will take place at Goward House (back lawn) on:

Monday, June 22nd
Between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm

Portraits can be taken alone or with a loved one or a group of friends. No children under the age of 12 please. Feel free to bring any props that make a statement about your interests or attitude (i.e. golf clubs, dressy hats, guitar, cigar, fancy parasol, etc). Book for session by phoning: 250 477 4401.

Goward House, built in 1908, is a heritage house situated in the Cadboro Bay area. In 1991 Goward House opened as an activity centre for adults. It is operated by the non-profit Goward House Society, in conjunction with a full-time co-ordinator and many enthusiastic volunteers.

Goward House is a place where adults come together to meet friends, keep fit, learn new skills and refresh old ones in a warm and friendly environment. All members are encouraged to participate in the daily life of Goward House and to make it their own. If you are interested in volunteering, we have many opportunities. We welcome new members and encourage you to drop by and try out an activity before joining Goward House. While you are here, why not enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee in our tea room?

Goward House is also a well known arts venue in Victoria featuring month-long art exhibitions by emerging and established artists.

The mission of Goward House is to provide a vibrant activity centre combining fellowship with social, educational, and special interest programs for Greater Victoria residents aged 50 and over.
