Stephanie's love of art was kindled when she travelled in Western Europe as a young student. The years that followed involved commitment to family and a demanding profession. It was not until later in life that she was free to explore her own creativity. She has studied with several prominent Victoria artists and at the Vancouver Island School of Art. Her paintings are evolving towards impressionism and abstraction as she experiments with colour to portray mood and harmony.
