"I have been actively pursuing my passion of photography for about 10 years. I often find inspiration for my work in the colors and textures of the natural environment here on Vancouver Island, and more recently in the stunning landscapes of the American Southwest. Photography continues to be a means of seeing the world around me in new and exciting ways. As the painter starts with an empty canvas and begins to fill the space, so the photographer looks through the viewfinder to see what can be isolated, eliminated and simplified down to the essence of the subject. What I hope to achieve by this process is a "natural impression" of my subject - something that has impact and evokes a response from the viewer."
