Despite being distracted by an academic training, Carol has pursued artistic endeavours throughout her life including working in clay, drawing, japanese sumi and photography. Over the past 12 years, she has focused on painting, working in watercolour and ink producing either botanical/representational pieces or images using sumi-style brushstrokes and loose washes. More recently, monoprinting, acrylic and multimedia have been incorporated into her repertoire.

Carol has been showing and selling her work since 1996 and her work hangs in homes from North America to Europe, Japan to Australia.

Her images have generally represented "all that grows" in the garden or orchard. She is an avid gardener who plants to paint. She regards her art as an adventure, seeing and exploring each of her 'specimens' for its unique shape, colour and idiosyncratic detail. The ordinary becomes extraordinary when viewed from a meditative place. She has, indeed, found her "Secret Garden" full of colour and delight and is enriched by embracing all that grows therein.
