The Artist

I have been fascinated by the natural world from an early age but came to creating art relatively late. As a painter, writer, historian, photographer and former chemist, my creative work combines my interests and I love experimenting with different media and styles. I believe that science and art are on a continuum of creativity and I include scientific subjects in my photography, painting, and writing. My love of nature and travel and my concern about the environment have provided inspiration for my art work. My informal art education included visits to major art galleries in Europe, North America, New Zealand, and Australia. I studied pottery in Montreal and painting in Prince George and Victoria. Since the mid-1980s, I curated exhibitions at three Canadian universities, and exhibited art works at the BC Festival of Arts, and several group shows in Prince George, Victoria, and Sidney. My work is at the University of Northern British Columbia’s art collection and in private ones in Australia, Sweden, the United States, England, Korea, and across Canada. It was featured in Reflections on Water, “Gallery” Vol. 2, No. 1 (Dec 2000) and “Gallery” Vol. 6. No. 2 (Fall 2005).
