Colour, mood and texture are the inspirations that provide
the foundation for my paintings. I like to start with a
colour idea, which then evolves into compositions that
intrigue me. I will often work a painting to the point where
intent and technique take a lesser importance, relying
instead on intuition. My art represents this curiosity and
exploration of colour and texture. As an artist, my
ultimate goal is to be able to summon at will that state of
absolute rapture that I sometimes experience when I am
totally lost in the creative process.
My work has been shown at the SPAC annual spring show, the
juried Sooke Fine Art Show, the Sidney Fine Art Show, and
has won several awards, including honourable mention at the
Sooke Fine Arts Show. My paintings hang in several private
collections.
