GROUP DESCRIPTION
of the
STUDIO OF HARMONIOUS ENDEAVOUR
The Studio of Harmonious Endeavour, originally founded by Nenagh
Molson, is a group of Goward House artists experienced in Chinese brush
painting. Some of the members of the group have a professional
arts background and others have taken lessons from masters in brush
painting over the course of several years. The group meets
on Wednesdays at Goward House to paint together in an atmosphere
of mutual encouragement and critique. We use traditional oriental
materials such a mulberry paper, ink, and water colours, and our work
tends to focus on traditional subjects for oriental art such as
landscape. flowers, birds and animals but often with a West Coast
influence.
While Nenagh was teaching at
Goward House, it became a tradition for her to organize an exhibit of
the work of her students at the House during the month of
December. After her recent retirement the group decided to
continue this tradition on its own with this December show.
Current members of the group are: Audrey Campsall, Arlene Davey, Barbara Downie,
Evelyn Downs, Ann Gibbard, Jean McClure, Dorothy Roberts and Bonnie Walmsley. Artists
interested in joining the group are invited to contact Ann Gibbard at (250)-477-2986.
