Goward House, built in 1908, is a heritage house situated in the Cadboro Bay area. In 1991 Goward House opened as an activity centre for adults. It is operated by the non-profit Goward House Society, in conjunction with a full-time co-ordinator and many enthusiastic volunteers.

Goward House is a place where adults come together to meet friends, keep fit, learn new skills and refresh old ones in a warm and friendly environment. All members are encouraged to participate in the daily life of Goward House and to make it their own. If you are interested in volunteering, we have many opportunities. We welcome new members and encourage you to drop by and try out an activity before joining Goward House. While you are here, why not enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee in our tea room?

Goward House is also a well known arts venue in Victoria featuring month-long art exhibitions by emerging and established artists.

Special Event!

1908 - GOWARD HOUSE - 2008
CENTENNIAL 5¢ FAIR
JULY 12th

To celebrate the 100th birthday of Goward House we are putting on an “old-tyme country fayre”, such as might have taken place in 1908 when 5 cents would buy you an apple wood pipe, half a pound of coffee, a pair of canvas gloves or a shoe-shine. Our fair will feature activities for the whole family.
