THE HARMONY CAFÉ
Thursday, September 24
ALL ARE WELCOME! FREE
1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
The new Goward
House Harmony Café is an OPEN MIC opportunity for members and guests. Whether you participate as musicians or form part of
the audience, you are guaranteed to enjoy both entertainment and camaraderie.
Have you a special talent that you have been storing in a cupboard somewhere? Are you a singer, poet, musician, comedian, or storyteller, etc.? If so, now is the time to rediscover your gift or talent and share in entertaining with others at Goward House.
Drelene Gibb will be your host. Drelene sings and plays ukulele, provides egg/rhythm back-up, as well as encouragement and support. Shows can include (but are not limited to) accordion solos, guitar and harmonica gigs, duos, trios, vocalists, and even harpsichordists. Come and read your poetry or a piece of your writing. No talent too small or too big! We all have something to give as entertainment.
This is your opportunity to “show and tell”. Join us for an afternoon of fun! Refreshments available for purchase.

Goward House, built in 1908, is a heritage house situated in the Cadboro Bay area. In 1991 Goward House opened as an activity
centre for adults. It is operated by the non-profit Goward House Society, in conjunction with a full-time co-ordinator and many enthusiastic volunteers.
Goward House is a place where adults come together to meet friends, keep fit, learn new skills and refresh old ones in a warm and friendly environment. All members are encouraged to participate in the daily life of Goward House and to make it their own. If you are interested in volunteering, we have many opportunities. We welcome new members and encourage you to drop by and try out an activity before joining Goward House. While you are here, why not enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee in our tea room?
Goward House is also a well known arts venue in Victoria featuring month-long art exhibitions by emerging and established artists.
The mission of Goward House is to provide a vibrant activity centre combining fellowship with social, educational, and special interest programs for Greater Victoria residents aged 50 and over.
